Sideline Cheer Fundamentals
Cheerleaders learn crowd-leading skills, sideline cheers, basic motions, jumps, dance routines, timing, and game-day spirit. The goal is to help athletes become confident supporting their teams in a fun, positive, and age-appropriate environment.
Confidence, Teamwork & Leadership
Jr Cheer helps athletes build confidence, communication skills, teamwork, responsibility, and leadership. Participants learn how to encourage others, represent Andover positively, and contribute to the overall game-day experience.
Practices & Games
Practices begin in August and are typically held twice per week. Practice times and locations are communicated by the cheer coaches through AJSA/Crossbar.
Jr Cheer squads cheer during Jr Football games on Saturdays throughout the regular season. For the current season, games are scheduled for September 12th through October 31st, with Championship Saturday scheduled for November 7th.
Families should expect both home and away games during the season and should watch for coach communication regarding arrival times, locations, uniforms, and any game-day updates.
Uniforms & Season Details

Families should watch for coach communication regarding arrival times, locations, uniforms, weather considerations, and any game-day updates.
Parents play an important role in helping the season run smoothly by staying connected through Crossbar and supporting practice, game-day, and uniform expectations.
Our Cheer Goals
Andover Jr Cheer is committed to providing a positive, encouraging, and team-focused experience for young athletes.
Our goal is to help cheerleaders build confidence, learn fundamentals, support their teams, and develop pride in representing Andover. Through practices, games, and team activities, cheerleaders grow as teammates, leaders, and positive representatives of Andover Jr Sports Association.
