Fundraising Policy
FUNDRAISING SUPPORT
Helping Keep Program Costs Manageable
Fundraising is an important part of the Andover Jr Sports Association (AJSA). Registration fees alone do not cover the full cost of operating Andover Jr Football and Cheer. Equipment, helmet reconditioning, uniforms, insurance, league fees, team equipment needs, scholarships, and other program needs continue to increase each year.
Rather than charging families the full actual cost of participation up front, AJSA uses fundraising to help keep posted registration fees as affordable as possible. The raffle ticket fundraiser gives families a way to help satisfy the required fundraising amount through ticket sales, allowing community supporters to help cover costs that are not fully covered by registration fees.
This policy is intended to explain the fundraising requirement clearly so families understand their options, deadlines, and responsibilities before the season begins.
Quick Fundraising Snapshot
Tackle Football, Rookie Tackle, and Jr Cheer athletes.
10 raffle tickets at $20 each, totaling $200 per required athlete.
Sponsorships may satisfy the requirement at one athlete for each full $500 received and verified by AJSA.
Sponsorships due July 27. Raffle charges processed on or around August 3.
WHO MUST FUNDRAISE
AJSA calculates many program costs on a per-athlete basis, including equipment, uniforms, insurance, league fees, team equipment needs, and other operating needs. For that reason, the fundraising requirement applies to each required athlete, not simply once per family.
Sibling Discount Reminder: AJSA offers a sibling discount on eligible registration fees, but the sibling discount does not reduce, waive, or replace the fundraising requirement. Fundraising is calculated separately and applies to each required athlete.
Required to Fundraise
Each Tackle Football, Rookie Tackle, and Jr Cheer athlete must satisfy the AJSA fundraising requirement.
Families with more than one required athlete are responsible for the fundraising requirement for each applicable athlete.
Currently Exempt
Flag Football-only athletes are currently exempt from the AJSA fundraising requirement.
This exemption reflects the lower equipment and operational costs associated with the Flag Football program.
FUNDRAISING OPTIONS
During registration, families will choose one fundraising option for each athlete required to fundraise. Both options support AJSA while giving families a way to help cover costs that are not fully covered by registration fees.
Option 1: Raffle Ticket Fundraiser
Each required athlete is responsible for 10 raffle tickets at $20 each, for a total fundraiser amount of $200 per required athlete.
Families are encouraged to sell the raffle tickets and keep the proceeds from those sales, allowing the fundraiser amount to be covered through ticket sales rather than becoming an additional household expense.
Raffle tickets must be sold only at AJSA’s stated ticket price of $20 per ticket. Families may not sell raffle tickets for more or less than $20 per ticket, add surcharges, offer discounted pricing, or otherwise change AJSA’s stated ticket price.
Option 2: Qualifying Sponsorship
Families may satisfy the fundraising requirement by securing a qualifying AJSA sponsorship.
Sponsorships may satisfy the fundraising requirement at a rate of one required athlete for each full $500 in sponsorship received and verified by AJSA.
For example, a $500 sponsorship may satisfy one athlete’s requirement, a $750 sponsorship may satisfy one athlete’s requirement, and a $1,500 sponsorship may satisfy up to three required athletes in the same family.
Sponsorship information, available sponsorship levels, application instructions, and the sponsorship form are available on the AJSA Sponsorship page.
RAFFLE TICKET CHARGE AND DISTRIBUTION
No raffle ticket charge is collected at the time of registration. By completing registration and selecting the AJSA Raffle Ticket Fundraiser option, families understand and agree that AJSA will charge the payment method on file on or around Monday, August 3, 2026, for the $200 fundraiser requirement per required athlete.
This charge includes 10 raffle tickets at $20 each for each required athlete. Once fundraiser payments are processed and cleared, AJSA will distribute raffle tickets to participating families through an announced distribution process.
Raffle tickets will be distributed together after payments have been processed, rather than individually at the time of registration.
The raffle ticket fundraiser is designed to give families a practical way to satisfy the required fundraiser amount. Families may sell the raffle tickets and keep the proceeds from those sales, allowing the fundraiser amount to be covered by ticket purchasers rather than becoming an additional household expense.
Raffle tickets must be sold only at AJSA’s stated ticket price of $20 per ticket. Families may not sell raffle tickets for more or less than $20 per ticket, add surcharges, offer discounted pricing, or otherwise change AJSA’s stated ticket price.
Families may also choose to keep the tickets and submit the stubs for their own raffle entries.
Raffle prize information, raffle ticket sales deadline, ticket stub return instructions, and the drawing date will be announced by AJSA through official communication channels.
SPONSORSHIP REQUIREMENTS AND DEADLINE
Families who select the sponsorship option during registration are making a fundraising commitment. The sponsorship option is not complete unless the completed sponsorship form and sponsor payment are received by AJSA no later than Monday, July 27, 2026.
Sponsorship Information and Application: Sponsorship levels, recognition details, application instructions, and the sponsorship form are available on the AJSA Sponsorship page.
Sponsorships may satisfy the AJSA fundraising requirement at a rate of one required athlete for each full $500 in sponsorship received and verified by AJSA. For example, a $500 sponsorship may satisfy the requirement for one athlete, while a $1,500 sponsorship may satisfy the requirement for up to three required athletes in the same family.
Sponsorship amounts that do not reach another full $500 increment do not automatically satisfy an additional athlete’s fundraising requirement. For example, a $750 sponsorship may satisfy the requirement for one athlete, but it does not satisfy the requirement for two athletes.
Sponsorships are program-support opportunities that include sponsor recognition and related package obligations. Sponsorship funds are not treated as individual player credits or family account balances.
In-kind donations, product donations, or service donations do not automatically satisfy the fundraising requirement unless approved in writing by AJSA.
Families with more than one required athlete must satisfy the fundraising requirement for each applicable athlete through qualifying sponsorship amounts, the raffle ticket fundraiser, or a combination of both.
Sponsor logo or recognition information should also be submitted by the sponsorship deadline when applicable.
Selecting the sponsorship option during registration does not waive the fundraising requirement unless the sponsorship is completed, paid, received, and verified by AJSA by the deadline.
If the completed sponsorship form and sponsor payment are not received by Monday, July 27, 2026, the athlete will automatically be moved to the AJSA Raffle Ticket Fundraiser, and the payment method on file will be charged on or around Monday, August 3, 2026, for the $200 fundraiser requirement per required athlete.
WHY FUNDRAISING MATTERS
Funds raised through the AJSA raffle and sponsorship opportunities help support the costs of operating a safe, organized, and high-quality youth football and cheer program for Andover families.
Helmets, shoulder pads, football equipment, repairs, replacement needs, and safety-related reconditioning.
Cheer uniforms, poms, bows, program materials, and other season-related cheer expenses.
Insurance, league fees, team equipment needs, game-day needs, and other required operating costs.
Support for families when resources allow, helping keep participation accessible for more Andover athletes.
Every family’s participation helps AJSA continue providing a positive, community-focused football and cheer experience while allowing posted registration fees to remain lower than the full actual cost of operating the program.
GOING BEYOND THE MINIMUM
The minimum fundraising requirement helps AJSA cover a portion of the costs that are not fully covered by registration fees. Families who are able to sell more than the minimum number of raffle tickets provide an even greater benefit to the program.
Additional raffle ticket sales help support equipment replacement, helmet reconditioning, cheer program needs, scholarships, team equipment needs, game-day supplies, and other costs that directly benefit Andover Jr Football and Cheer athletes.
AJSA may recognize top-selling athletes, families, teams, or squads during the season. Recognition may include website or email acknowledgments, team shout-outs, or other program-approved appreciation opportunities.
Selling more than the minimum is optional, but it is one of the most helpful ways families can support the program beyond registration.
UNRESOLVED FUNDRAISING OBLIGATIONS
Families are responsible for completing the fundraising option selected during registration for each required athlete. If a sponsorship is not completed by the deadline, or if a raffle fundraiser charge is not successfully paid, the fundraising obligation remains unresolved.
If a payment method on file is declined or unavailable when AJSA processes the raffle fundraiser charge, the family remains responsible for completing the $200 fundraising requirement per required athlete before raffle tickets are distributed.
Withdrawal timing is subject to the AJSA Refund Policy. If an athlete remains registered or continues participating after the applicable football or cheer refund deadline has passed, the fundraising requirement remains in effect.
Families with unresolved fundraising obligations may be required to resolve those obligations before equipment checkout, uniform distribution, future registration, or other AJSA participation steps are completed.
